Drive-In Cancelled
Utilita Live From the Drive In Cancelled
The planned tours of Six the Musical, Dinosaur World Live and The Tiger Who Came To Tea to the Highland Centre in August have been cancelled.
The whole Utilita Live from the Drive-In tour has been cancelled due to concerns about local lockdown issues over Covid-19, according to a statements from promoters Live Nation posted by the cancelled shows.
Notices from Dinosaur World and The Tiger Who Came to Tea say that Live Nation have told them that: “the latest developments regarding localised lockdowns mean it has become impossible for them to continue with the series with any confidence.”
They confirmed that customers for the shows will be contacted directly by their ticketing agents and refunded automatically in full within the next seven days.
The producers of Six said: “This devastating news has come out of the blue and hit us all for six. We are so sorry to disappoint the thousands of fans who have booked tickets and sold out many dates on the tour.
“It is also a sad day for our West End and UK Tour Queens, who had already started rehearsals and our entire team of over 60 people who were all working so very hard to deliver a spectacular show.”
Covid infection hot spots
The producers continued: “Despite the Government announcing Stage 3 of Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden’s road map permitting performances outdoors with an audience, the planned tour was due to visit 12 cities, several of which have since been identified as emerging Covid infection hot spots.
“We know that ultimately there is nothing more important than the safety and wellbeing of our company and the Six Queendom. We look forward to better times.”
There had been no official public notice from Live Nation as we went to press, but ticketing company Ticketmaster has contacted All Edinburgh Theatre to confirm that all Utilita Live From The Drive-In events should be de-listed straight away.
