Mica Anderson
She Can’t Half Talk
★★☆☆☆ Unconvincing lives:
She Can’t Half Talk, EUTC’s Fringe production at the Bedlam, is a varied set of stories that contains much of promise but fails to convince as a coherent whole.
Chagos 1971
★★★☆☆ Dark machinations:
Chagos 1971, writer-director Nathaniel Brimmer-Beller’s new work for Black Bat Productions at Zoo Playground, deals with important events in a way that is uneven but has a great deal going for it.
Pippin
★★★☆☆ Overambitious:
There is a great deal of vocal talent on show in the EUTC’s production of Pippin at the Bedlam. However, some ill-judged staging choices conspire against the production, resulting in a definite curate’s egg.
Technicolor
★★★★☆ Extra-terrestrially cool:
Black Bat’s Technicolor is a freewheeling exercise in both nostalgia and modernity that is highly recommended.
