Two days after the latest series of Grace left our TV screens, Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is back on stage in Edinburgh in Wish You Were Dead, Shaun McKenna’s sixth adaption of a Peter James novel.
Looking Good Dead
★★☆☆☆ Unfortunate
Subtle as a bulldozer and only sporadically gripping, Looking Good Dead, which is at the King’s all week, works on one level as undemanding entertainment, but is not exactly guaranteed to have the crowds flocking back to the theatres.
Hair – the Musical
★★★★☆ Lets the sun shine:
Over 50 years on and the Age of Aquarius is still providing a relevant, controversial (in parts) and – eventually – thunderously entertaining piece of musical theatre in Hair, at the Playhouse to Saturday.

Casting announced for Playhouse dates of Hair the Musical:
Jake Quickenden, Daisy Wood-Davis and Marcus Collins will lead the cast of the UK tour of Hair the Musical when it arrives at the Edinburgh Playhouse in June 2019.
Rain Man
★★☆☆☆ Clunky:
There are probably enough fans of the original movie to sustain The Classic Screen to Stage Company’s touring version of Rain Man, at the King’s until Saturday. However, as a piece of theatre it never makes a successful case for itself.

Casting Announced for Rain Man Tour:
Matthew Horne – Gavin from Gavin & Stacey – and Downton Abbey’s Ed Speleers are to play brothers Raymond and Charlie Babbit in the tour of Rain Man coming to the King’s in October.
