School of Rock tickets on sale now

Get ready to stick it to the man – Yeah!!! Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical, School of Rock, is gonna rock out, maaan, in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2021.

The show, based on the iconic movie starring Jack Black, is off on a 31 date tour in 2021 with three dates in Scotland after opening in Birmingham in February. It plays Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Tue 2 – Sat 6 March, the Glasgow King’s Mon 8 – Sat 13 March and then Edinburgh’s Playhouse on Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 March 2021.

Wannabe rock star Dewey Finn is cast out by his dive-bar bandmates and finds himself in desperate need of cash. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite prep school, he exposes his students to the rock gods he idolises, transforming them into a mind-blowing rock band.

While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock out, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful, but uptight headmistress, Miss Mullins, helping her rediscover the wild child within. But, will they all find redemption at the battle of the bands?

The show features 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and all the original songs from the movie all performed by a band of insanely talented kids who play live every show. It will warm your heart and blow you away in equal measure, says the publicity, and who are we to disagree.
