Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical announces UK tour
There’s a cup of ambition doing the rounds as 9 to 5 The Musical announces a UK tour this Autumn, arriving at the Playhouse in November.
The musical, which is currently playing the Savoy Theatre in London, is setting off from Birmingham in September on a 15 venue UK tour, including Glasgow (8-12 Oct), Aberdeen (22-26 Oct) and Edinburgh (12-16 Nov) and finishing in Dublin in November.

9 To 5 The Musical features a book by Patricia Resnick, screenwriter for the original 1980 Movie, and original Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score and lyrics by Dolly Parton.
It tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the women manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?
Parton said: “I am beyond thrilled to the response from across the pond to 9 to 5 The Musical. The overwhelmingly positive fan reaction to this universal story tickles every rhinestone on my body! I can’t wait for more people throughout the UK and Ireland to enjoy it and sing along.”
The production is directed by Jeff Calhoun with choreography by Lisa Stevens, design by Tom Rogers, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design by Poti Martin and video design by Nina Dunn.
The Savoy Theatre production is booked through to August (details here) and is currently staring Caroline Sheen, Amber Davies and Natalie McQueen with Bonnie Langford and Brian Conley. Louise Redknapp is due to return to take over from Caroline Sheen on March 25.
Star casting for the tour will be announced at a later date. Tickets for the tour go on public sale on Monday 18 March.
