Performances affected by State Funeral
Performances of The Book of Mormon and Showcase 2022 at the beginning of next week have been cancelled and disrupted due to the State Funeral for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, which will take place on Monday 19 September 2022.
The performance of The Book of Mormon at the Edinburgh Playhouse, scheduled for Monday 19, has now been cancelled. Ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase with more details. All other performances will take place as scheduled.
At the Church Hill Theatre, the opening performance of Showcase 2022, the annual portmanteau production in aid of cancer charity We Are MacMillan, has been cancelled. Originally due to open on Tuesday, the show will now open on Wednesday 21 September.
The Church Hill Theatre will be closed completely on Monday 19 as a mark of respect. This is the start of show week, when the company would normally have been finishing get-in and doing its technical and dress rehearsals. As a consequence, the show timetable has had to move back 24 hours.
The company say that those who have already purchased tickets for Tuesday 20 and haven’t yet been contacted should speak to their booking contact to reschedule or arrange a refund.
The first of two performances of Love and Madness, the Shifting Sands Workshop Production at the Scottish Storytelling Centre has also been cancelled. Anyone who has tickets and has not been contacted by the Centre should contact them for a refund or to re-allocate their ticket to the 20th.
