Fame calling!
Footlights seeks creatives for February show
Edinburgh University Footlights has announced that its February 2018 production will be Fame: The Musical and has put out an open call for the creative team to stage the show.
The production will run at the Church Hill Theatre, Tuesday 6 – Saturday 10 February 2018. The company is inviting applications from non-students as well as students for the unpaid posts of director, musical director, choreographer, producer and production manager.
The initial production meetings will be held at the end of May with auditions in September. Rehearsals will take place three times a week. The deadline for applications for these roles is noon on Monday 24 April 2017.
The Footlights committee said: “This is a unique and exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their repertoire, with a diverse cast who wish to be challenged in every aspect of performance.”

Footlights has a strong reputation for professionally staged shows, in recent years it has staged productions of Urinetown (2017), Guys & Dolls (2016), Rent (2015) and the Scottish premiere of In The Heights in 2014.
Fame: the Musical is based on the award-winning 1980 movie. It follows the lives of a group of aspiring entertainers at New York’s High School for Performing Arts.
