Horror fest seeks spooked up performers
The Edinburgh Horror Festival is looking for actors of all ages over 18 and genders to take part in its 2017 festival to be held at the end of October.
The performers will be part of a two day event that is due to take place over the weekend before Halloween, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October 2017, at Lauriston Castle.
The festival will be staging two hour long shows to be performed several times over each day.
The Haunted Hunt is a children’s treasure hunt around the grounds and buildings of the Castle.
Ghosts of Lauriston, which is aimed at older children and adults, is a spooky interactive tale of murder and revenge set inside the castle.
Each character will confined to a single room or space, so no actor would be expected to perform for more than 10 minutes at a time. The performances will be on a profit share basis.
Auditions are scheduled for central Edinburgh on Saturday July 15 2017, 4pm, depending on actor availability. Rehearsals will start in September.

Edinburgh Horror Festival 2017 is due to run from Friday 27 to Tuesday 31 October. The Festival had its first outing in 2016, following the successful Hallowe’en Fest one night event in 2015.
A not-for-profit unincorporated association, it aims to: “present a platform for artists with a paranormal, supernatural, gothic and horror themed act”.

The ghostly Grey Lady has been spotted and she has a task for children everywhere. Solve the clues and talk to the historic spirits of the ancient house who will lead teams around the grounds and castle to find the lost treasure of the Grey Lady. But beware, Sir Thomas Napier the Werewolf is on the prowl. Avoid him and find the treasure before the clock counts down and you’ll be on the wolfman’s menu!
