Reid and Toyne double date at Ghillie Dhu
Natalie Arle-Toyne will join with Edward Reid for a double event of solo performances with a twist at the Ghillie Dhu this Wednesday, 30 November 2016.
The double show will feature a backing trio led by Edinburgh-based MD Neil Metcalfe, with both performers taking solo spots performing classic songs made famous by acts from Elvis to the Jackson Five and Sinatra.

Edward Reid, who is known from Britain’s Got Talent, will be presenting his Legends in my Living Room, which he says is “inspired by songs my mum and dad listened to and what I hear my big sisters listen to when going out to the dancin’! Plus songs that I obsess over on YouTube in my living room!”
Toyne, who is best known as an actress, reports that she and Reid are “having a ball” working with the band and Metcalfe, “twisting the arrangements of old classics to make them our own.”
Having sung in jazz trios and with big bands when she was younger in South Africa, Turkey and the U.A.E, she got more work as an actress when she moved to Scotland, taking her career off into a different direction.
Speaking of this week’s show, she told Æ: “I feel like I’m getting back to my roots rediscovering all the oldies that I love. My solo show as part of this evening is Lady Sings The Boys – re-imagining all the songs originally sung by the classic gentlemen crooners.”
