Black Bat Call Out
Auditions for EdFringe 2018 show
Black Bat Productions has put out a late open call for auditions for its EdFringe 2018 production, Technicolor following the success of last year’s EdFringe show, Mack the Knife which played to capacity audiences.
Although the company is student-based with auditions to be held in David Hume Tower, it is looking to attract all performers for this amateur production, so long as they can deliver an American accent. Initial auditions are being held on Friday 6 April with a second date in early May.
The company says that Technicolor will be an “original darkly comedic” production set in New Mexico, 1967.
“Strange things have been happening in a tiny town. People hear music, see lights in the sky, and want the FBI involved. Three agents are sent to figure it out. Think The Twilight Zone meets Annihilation meets Martin McDonagh, all during the Summer of Love. Psychedelic rock and psychedelic happenings abound.”
The production will have six characters, nominally three male and three female, although three of these can be gender-blind.
Specific dates and times of the production are still being confirmed as Black Bat Productions finalise the venue. However the company’s Nathaniel Brimmer-Beller told Æ that rehearsals will be in July and early August.
