What’s on Edinburgh’s stages this week?
Time to take a deep breath in the few days of calm, before the storm of Christmas goodies hits stages on Thursday, when the Lyceum is first out of the traps with The Snow Queen (tickets). With The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan at the Festival Theatre (tickets) hard on its tail on Saturday.

North Leith Limbo
Slavery “central issue” in play inspired by Leith graves
The Ghosts of North Leith, at North Leith Parish Church for three nights only this week, sees the Citadel Arts Group weave together scripts based on stories behind graves in the Coburg Street Burial Ground.
Mormons return…
The Book of Mormon is returning to the Edinburgh Playhouse for a three week run, from Tue 15 Oct to Sat 2 Nov, 2024, with tickets now on general sale.

The ‘perfect storm’ of financial pressures facing Scotland’s culture sector “has not abated” over the last year, according to a new report from Scottish Parliament’s Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee.

Flying onto the Playhouse stage on the magic carpet of Disney, the big touring production of Aladdin which sets off on a 15 month UK tour is a big, sparkling concoction of fun.
Apocalypse beyond the line
EGTG revive Walt McGough’s Chalk
Edinburgh Graduate Theatre Group return this coming week with a revival of American playwright Walt McGough’s intense, 2015 sci-fi fable, Chalk, upstairs at the Assembly Roxy from Wed 8 to Sat 11 November 2023.
