Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group has brought plenty of invention to the store in its pleasing production of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s B-Movie musical, Little Shop of Horrors, at the Church Hill Theatre.
Shrek the Musical
★★★★☆ Fully rounded
Shrek the Musical’s return in a new production, with a new director and choreographer, is a case of more of the same in terms of plot and songs, but with vibrant new details and framing to their presentation.

There’s two shows with big green protagonists opening this week. Similar, but oh so very different. At the Church Hill we have Eusog’s Little Shop of Horrors; at the Playhouse the new touring production of Shrek the Musical plays all week.

This week the Edinburgh University’s Savoy Opera company, Eusog, is swapping G&S for Menken and Ashman, with a production of Little Shop of Horrors at the Church Hill Theatre.

There’s plenty to mull over in the high concept, high impact, high-everything modern dress production of Macbeth touring to a quartet of created theatre spaces – and this month spending a fortnight at the Royal Highland Centre.

Reconnect SCIO, the charity running the Reconnect Regal Theatre in Bathgate, has won a long-term lease to run the under-threat Howden Park Centre in Livingston, securing its future as a venue to 2035.

FCT to stage 45th Anniversary Gala
Forth Children’s Theatre is turning 45 this year and to set the celebrations off will be holding a Gala Concert at the Church Hill Theatre on Thurs 4 to Sat 6 April, 2024.
