Summerhall management riposte to venue sale
Sale “against wishes” of Summerhall director Robert McDowell.
The announcement by the owners of Summerhall that they have put the building on the market has been met with strong concern across Edinburgh and around the arts world.

RAAC Survey uncovers new issues for Brunton Hall
The invasive survey work to assess the condition of the RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) within Brunton Hall, home to the Brunton Theatre, has revealed new issues, according to the East Lothian Council.

Multi-arts venue and tech-hub on the market
The owners of award-winning arts venue Summerhall have put the building, in prime location at the east end of the Meadows, on the open market, “with all the current licences included”.

Not a lot, it would seem. EdGAS is celebrating is centenary with a production of The Gondoliers at the Festival Theatre, while the BA students from PASS at Edinburgh College have showcase productions around town as part of GLOW Festival.

Framework Theatre’s Louder is a showcase for “semi-staged draft works of four brand new plays, all written & directed by early-career artists of marginalised genders.”
All Shook Up
★★★★☆ Hugely entertaining
Queen Margaret University Musical Theatre Society’s production of All Shook Up, at the Pleasance Theatre for four performances only, is a hugely entertaining jukebox musical from the book by Joe DiPietro.
The Drifters’ Girl
★★★☆☆ Stories still unsung
The Drifters Girl, at the Playhouse this week as part of a UK tour, provides plenty of Drifters hits, hung around the story of Faye Treadwell, who managed the group up until 2001.
