The Edinburgh Gang Show Management Team has announced that it has cancelled this year’s show because of ongoing concerns about Covid-19.

The first six pieces of the National Theatre of Scotland’s season of short digital artworks, Scenes for Survival, launches tonight, Wednesday 27 May 2020, and will remain online for two years.

New 2022 dates for Edinburgh Playhouse:
Strictly Ballroom the Musical, staring Kevin Clifton has rescheduled its planned tour putting its dates back a year to 2021/22, arriving at the Edinburgh Playhouse in March 2022.
“Hibernation” for Lyceum
Lyceum goes dark for remainder of 2020:
The Lyceum is to enter a period of “hibernation” as a building-based producing theatre with immediate effect, postponing all 2020 shows and entering into negotiations with all staff over redundancies.

Regular Thursday show for pop-up arts fest:
Edinburgh’s Hidden Door has announced a new web series, the Hidden Door Live Show, which will live stream on Thursday nights, alternating between Facebook and Instagram.
New Ayckbourn gets audio stream
Alan Ayckbourn to star in and direct 84th play:
Anno Domino, a “very contemporary response to the current situation” by veteran playwright Alan Ayckbourn, is to get its world premiere on an exclusive audio stream on the Stephen Joseph Theatre website.

The Traverse Young Writers Group has been meeting online since March and is now set to release scratch performances of plays written during lockdown, starting from tonight, Saturday May 16 2020 at 8pm.
