EIF Postpones Launch
Changed date now cancelled, due to Covid-19
The Edinburgh International Festival has postponed the launch of the 2020 Festival, which had already been changed to an online only event on Wednesday 18 March.

Capital Theatres “cancels or postpones” all March & April shows
Capital Theatres, which runs the King’s, the Festival and the Studio theatres, has announced that it is cancelling or postponing all performances at the three venues in March and April 2020.

Edinburgh’s first theatrical cancellation due to Covid 19 has happened with American drag artiste Sasha Velour pulling out of his European tour, including his Usher Hall date on Saturday 14 March 2020.

Producer Bill Kenwright has confirmed that Sheridan Smith will revisit her award-wining portrayal of the late Cilla Black in Cilla The Musical, written by BAFTA award-winning writer Jeff Pope.

It’s a big big week of variety for Allan Stewart, legendary panto dame at the King’s, who has announced both that this week’s Big Big Variety show will be his last – he’s turning 70, so little surprise there – and also that he will be taking on the role of Mother Superior when Sister Act comes to the Festival Theatre in May 2021.
