Traverse wins big at CATS
Theatre Awards announced in Glasgow:
Edinburgh’s Traverse theatre has scooped three wins at the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland for David Ireland’s Ulster American, with a fourth for the A Play, A Pie and A Pint production of The Mack.
Alice in Wonderland
★★★☆☆ Curiouser and curiouser:
While it is difficult to go too far wrong with Alice In Wonderland, it can definitely be done. Blue Raincoat Theatre’s version uses enough of the book to satisfy, but its own slant on the story does not quite convince.
The Lark
★★★★☆ Fiery:
There is fire in the belly of EGTG’s telling of The Lark – Jean Anouilh’s take on the story of Joan of Arc – at Bellfield in Portobello to Saturday.

Lion King Cast
Casting for The Lion King at Edinburgh Playhouse:
The principal company has been announced for the UK tour of Disney’s The Lion King which opens in Bristol and arrives at the Edinburgh Playhouse in December for its only Scottish dates.

EGTG give modern eye to historical story:
Edinburgh amateur company EGTG is digging back 600 years to the story of Joan of Arc this week with The Lark, a play that just seems to get more relevant as time goes on.
