Forth Children’s Theatre is looking for a director and an MD to take on the the company’s Easter show, 2013, which is scheduled to play at the Pleasance in April.

The company has not yet chosen a show for the production, that decision is still open for the director and MD, in discussion with the executive committee.

FCT chairperson Mark Gorman told the Annals: “We have a cast of 30 to 40 in each show, so as to give lots of young people the opportunity to experience the stage. Auditions are in late December with rehearsals on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons from January to the end of March.

“We aim to be a wholly inclusive company, so we do not charge any fees to be a member of FCT. Likewise, we are unable to pay our band, crew or production team. It’s all done for the love of musical theatre.”

The show itself will take place in the main theatre at the The Pleasance during the Easter school holidays in early April.

Gorman added: “We have not yet chosen a show for next Easter – that’s up to the director. There are only two stipulations, the show must be musical theatre and the executive committee have final say on the Director/MD’s choice. But we’re very supportive. Over the years we have mounted 66 productions of about 50 different shows so we’re very open to new ideas or old favourites.”
